For watersport lovers, a visit to Dale is a must. A five minute drive from Marloes, Dale waterfront offers excellent sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Dale is the home of the West Wales Wind, Surf and Sailing centre, which runs sailing, windsurfing and surfing instruction and holiday courses for beginners through to advanced tuition. Dale has a popular waterfront pub, The Griffin Inn, and there is also a café, shop, post office and sailing club. Dale is classified as a Blue Flag Beach. Blue Flags are awarded to bathing beaches which meet guideline water quality standards plus 25 other criteria including dog controls and public toilets. It is a standard that applies through out Europe and has become a symbol of quality beaches.
